Dr. Aldo Salvent is an award-winning saxophonist, composer, arranger, educator, music producer, and author. A graduate of the University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, where he earned his Doctorate in Musical Arts, Dr. Salvent has established himself as a dynamic performer and an innovative voice in jazz and contemporary music.

He has toured in more than 20 countries, performing alongside internationally acclaimed artists including Maria Schneider, Paquito D’Rivera, Brian Lynch, Ingrid Jensen, Sammy Figueroa, Ken Peplowski, Adam Nussbaum, Chuck Bergeron, and Jamie Ousley. His debut album, Da Capo (Dazzle Recordings, 2015), received high praise from All About Jazz, and his second release, Ancestros (Salvent Music, 2019), further showcased his unique compositional style.

Dr. Salvent leads the Aldo Salvent Quintet and regularly performs as a sideman with Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Brian Lynch and the Latin Grammy-nominated group PALO!

A passionate educator and advocate for instrumental technique, Dr. Salvent has authored and self-published eight instructional books for saxophone and brass players, including Tenor Altissimo, Easy Altissimo, and Horns Up. His educational materials are available through his official website, as well as Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and SheetMusicPlus.

He currently serves as Assistant Professor of Jazz at the Wertheim School of Music & Performing Arts at Florida International University, where he mentors emerging artists and scholars.

Dr. Salvent proudly plays and endorses P. Mauriat saxophones and Gonzalez reeds.
